Foothills Hardware & Builders Supply, LLC is the one-stop hardware shop for contractors and the “do-it-yourselfers” all over the Pilot Mountain, NC area.

Established in 2015 Foothills Hardware and Builders Supply, LLC was established on February 2nd, 2015 with a new vision and a fresh start. For over 25 years the store operated under the name Discount Builders, and was owned and operated by Mr. Ron & Mrs. Pat Moorefield. After working many years in the fast-pace hardware industry, the two were ready to slow down and enjoy retirement.

Our Goal The Bakers new vision for the hardware store has grown into a complete Home Improvement Center of over 30,000 sqft. Quality products and personal service are key to their overwhelming success. Their continued support from the community over the last few years has strengthened their hopes of becoming the communities number one choice for home improvement.

		More About Our Story Taylor and Leah Baker took over the business in February of 2015 and have since been offering new, fresh ideas for the business operations. Taylor Baker has been in the hardware industry since he was young. The Hayesville native grew up in his parents’ hardware store for nearly 15 years. Soon after, he met Leah McKinney at Guilford College. Leah works as a Physician Assistant in Dobson and they have one child, a little girl, Hallie Ann Baker. Taylor got a degree in Business Administration from Guilford College and began his career with Orgill, the world’s largest independent wholesale hardware supplier. For over 8 years, Baker traveled all over the country helping to remodel hardware stores and setting up new Orgill stores.
